It opens SOOO many doors for what a cordless tool can do (more voltage = less amperage for the same power = smaller wires, less heat, better all around). The flexvolt stuff is only going to get better. Note: don't buy anything over a 5ah battery in just 20v unless it's really cheap with a kit. I'm disappointed and now I'm back in the market for a mower and trimmer, and sadly now I'm considering gas because while I like the idea of battery power, it seems the batteries are just not up to snuff, in addition to being very expensive to replace, if you can even find them. The trimmer was a lightweight workhorse and the interchangeable batteries made it really convenient. The mower was quiet and powerful, and a joy to use. But between the faulty battery and my negative experience with their customer service process, I'm definitely soured on the brand. We've all heard the supply chain is all messed up right now, and I could forgive Dewalt for not being able to get the batteries, because I understand that's not their fault. DeWalt customer service was just terrible. Home Depot didn't have the battery in stock either, and I ended up returning both the mower and the trimmer. I declined, and they referred me to Home Depot, where I purchased the mower. They offered to give me a DCB206, which is their 6 Ah, model, to replace my DCB210 which is a 10 Ah model. I replied to the email, send all the required information, and after 48 hours, still hadn't received a reply to my email, so today, I called to check status, and was eventually informed that the DCB210 is not currently in stock, and there's no estimated arrival date. So, one of my two batteries is totally dead after 3 uses.īummer, but these things happen right? Called DeWalt to file a warranty claim, and was told they would send me an email asking for more information, photos, and a copy of the receipt, and we'd go from there. Tried swapping batteries between chargers, tried running down the one good battery in my string trimmer and recharging it to determine if the charger was bad (it wasn't). Sadly, the indicator on one of the batteries was still showing 1 bar, even though the charger thought it was fully charged. 20 minutes later I found myself back in the garage, so I looked at the chargers, and saw that they were both showing the steady indicator light, as if they were both fully charged. I figured I must have failed to push it all the way onto the charger, so I took it in the garage and plugged both batteries back in, and went back inside to wait for the batteries to charge. I pushed the charging indicators on the batteries and found that one was full and one was down to 1 bar. This past Saturday morning, I pulled the batteries off the charger and popped them into the mower, and the mower wouldn't start. My first three mows were so great I decided to buy one of their string trimmers to go along with the mower. Recently purchased a Dewalt mower that came with two of these DCB210 batteries and two chargers.
